AboutMe

I build apps, and keep them running.

I’m Imran Ahmed, an independent mobile app developer based in the UK. I didn’t study computer science — I taught myself to code after university, and most of what I know I learned by building things people actually use.

The biggest of those is Muslamica, which I’ve been building since 2021. It’s taught me the parts of app development that tutorials skip: store reviews, payments that have to work every time, upgrading a large codebase between Expo versions, and fixing production bugs for people who depend on the app.

In 2026 I built and launched gardeen, a dhikr app with a real-time 3D garden, on top of the same backend — from first commit to both app stores on my own.

Now I help founders and businesses do the same with their ideas. I like working with people who know the problem they want to solve, even if they don’t know how the app should be built yet. That’s the part I can help with.

How IWork

  1. Plainly

I'll explain what's involved without jargon, and tell you if something isn't worth building yet.

  2. In stages

You'll see the app working early and often, not just at the end.

  3. Properly

I fix root causes rather than stacking patches, and I say what's been tested and what hasn't.

Why workWith me

I'm not an agency, and that's the point. You get direct access to the person building your app.

  1. You talk to the person building it

No account managers or hand-offs. The person you explain your idea to is the one writing the code.

  2. Real apps, taken all the way to the stores

I've built, launched and kept running my own apps on the App Store and Google Play — not just demos.

  3. Frontend and backend, one developer

The mobile app, the database, the server logic and the payments — one person who understands how it all fits together.

  4. A practical route to launch

Focus on what your first version actually needs, ship it, then improve it with real feedback.

  5. New products and existing apps

Starting from scratch or picking up an app someone else built — both are fine.

ToolsI use

  • React NativeCross-platform apps
  • Expo & EASBuilds & store releases
  • FirebaseAuth, database, functions
  • TypeScriptSafer, typed code
  • RevenueCatIn-app subscriptions
  • StripeWeb payments
  • three.js3D in the app
