Who I am

This website belongs to Imran Ahmed, an independent mobile app developer based in the United Kingdom. I’m the data controller for information you send through it. In plain terms: I decide how it’s used, and I’m responsible for looking after it.

What I collect

The only personal information this site collects is what you type into the project enquiry form:

  • your name and email address;
  • optionally, a company name and a website or app link;
  • your answers about the project — what you need, platforms, your description, budget range, timeline, reference links, notes and how you heard about me;
  • that you confirmed you’d read this policy, and when the enquiry was sent.

Nothing is stored until you press “Send project enquiry”. While you’re filling in the form, an unsent draft is kept only in your own browser tab so a refresh doesn’t lose your answers; it is never sent anywhere and disappears when you close the tab or send the enquiry.

Please don’t include sensitive information (such as health details or payment card numbers) in the form — it isn’t needed to discuss a project.

Why I use it

Only to read and respond to your enquiry, and — if we decide to work together — to discuss and plan the project. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in replying to people who contact me, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Ticking the privacy box on the form confirms you’ve read this policy. It is notconsent to marketing. I won’t add you to a mailing list or send you marketing emails.

Preventing spam

To stop automated abuse, the server keeps a short-lived counter tied to a one-way hash of the IP address a submission came from, plus a fingerprint used to spot accidental duplicate submissions. The raw IP address is not stored. These records are deleted automatically after about 24 hours.

Where it’s stored and who can see it

Enquiries are stored in Google Cloud Firestore (part of Google Firebase), in Google’s European multi-region data centres. Google acts as my processor. Enquiries are locked away from the website and from users of my apps; only I access them, through my own administrator account. They are not sold or shared with anyone else.

How long I keep it

I keep an enquiry for as long as it’s useful for our conversation, and no longer than 24 months after we last spoke unless we go on to work together, in which case it becomes part of the project records. You can ask me to delete it sooner at any time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to how it’s used, or receive a copy of it. To make a request, contact me by replying to any email I’ve sent you about your enquiry, or messaging me on LinkedIn (opens in a new tab). I’ll respond within one month.

If you’re unhappy with how I’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk (opens in a new tab).
